FOREST NORTH EAST (COPYTHORNE, WINSOR, DISPERSED FARMS AND ARABLE LAND, NETLEY MARSH, BARTLEY, WOODLANDS, HISTORIC EDGE OF FOREST ENCROACHMENT)
CONSERVATION AREA
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN under the provisions of the Act that New Forest National Park Authority (“the Authority”) has determined that the area described in the Schedule to this Notice is an area of special architectural or historic interest, and that it is desirable to preserve or enhance its character or appearance. As a result, on 26 March 2008, the Authority designated the area as a “conservation area”.
The principal effects of the designation of this area as a conservation area are as follows:
1. The Authority is under a duty to prepare proposals to ensure the preservation or enhancement of the area.
2. Consent must be obtained from the Authority for the demolition of any building in the area.
3. Additional publicity must be given to planning applications for development in the area.
4. In carrying out any functions under the planning acts (and, in particular, in determining applications for planning permission and listed building consent), the Authority and the Secretary of State are required to take into account the desirability of preserving or enhancing the character or appearance of the area.
5. Six weeks’ notice must be given to the Authority before works are carried out to any tree in the area.

In a clockwise direction, from the junction of Pollards Moor Road and Romsey Road, north east along the north verge of Romsey Road to Barrowhill Road. East along the north verge of Barrowhill Road to the corner opposite Staveley House, continuing east and north east along the north side of the path to Whitemoor Lane, crossing the road and continuing north east along the south side of the track to the north east corner of the woodland. South along the east boundary of the woodland and continuing south along the west boundary of Shornehill Great Fir Plantation, west and south to include land including the Hollies. East along the north side of Loperwood Road to include land including Clarifont Cottage and land immediately east. South along the field boundaries of the fields bounding Whitemoor Lane to Tatchbury Copse. South along the east side of the track to the earthworks of Tatchbury Mount. Around and including the earthworks of Tatchbury Mount, south along the field boundaries to the east of Tatchbury Manor to the track. West along the south side of the track to the junction with Tatchbury Lane. South west and south along the east verge of Tatchbury Lane to the junction with Ringwood Road. East along the north verge of Ringwood Road to the track north adjacent to the hall and school. North along the west side of the track to the north corner of the church yard. South east to include the church yard and to include land including the Old Vicarage and the Vicarage to then cross Ringwood Road to the south side. West along the south verge of Ringwood Road and south to include land including The Nurseries. West to include land including Lec House, Standen and the White Horse Public House. Across Woodlands Road and south west to include the west verge of Woodlands Road and west along the south verge of Priestlands Close, continuing west along the south side of the track to the north west corner of Twigs Wood. South along the west boundary of Twigs Wood, south along the field boundaries and excluding the properies and gardens fronting Woodlands Road to the east boundary of Broadbridge Farm. South including land and buildings of Broadbridge Farm. Joining Woodlands Road at its junction with Rossiters Lane, east along the north edge of the road and south along the east verge of Woodlands Road up to and to include land adjacent to the north east of the Gamekeeper Public House and the paddock behind. South east along the next two field boundaries, then south west along the north west boundary of the arable land up to the track. North west along the north side of the track then south west along the north west boundary of the arable land up to the land of but not including 160 Woodlands Road. North west and then south west around the boundary of 160 Woodlands Road up to Woodlands Road. North west along the south side of Woodlands Road to include land including, and adjoining to the north, 151 Woodlands Road. South west and west along the north boundary of Busketts Lawn Inclosure up to Beechwood Road. North east along the south verge of Beechwood Road crossing the road adjacent to Forest House. North west following the boundary of Shave Wood to Lyndhurst Road. North east to include land including Bartley Lodge Hotel, West Lodge and Home Farm, crossing the track and following the field boundaries to include land including Cherry Tree Cottage, continuing south east to include land including Oakapple Cottage and Rockram House and their gardens and adjacent paddocks. Around the south boundary of but excluding Brookfield. Continuing east along the north verge of Beechwood Road to its junction with New Inn Road. North along the west verge of New Inn Road, east across the road and east to include land including Aden Cottage, Sandlyn, Morningside, Anton Lea, Pheonix, March End, Rambler Cottage and Bramley Cottage, all on Chinham Road. East then south crossing Chinham Road opposite and to include land including Bridge Cottage. South east and south west along the north east boundary of Bartley Green, turning south east along the rear of and excluding properties facing Pundle Green and Shepherds Close, north east along the rear of and excluding further properties facing Shepherds Close and Danebury facing Shepherds Road, up to Shepherds Road. South east along the north verge of Shepherds Road to the parish boundary, north east along the boundary to include land including Bourne Farm. East along the north boundary of Bourne Farm to Bourne Road. Across the verge, north along the road, across the road to the south of Bourne Lane, around land including Granmor House and Cozy Nook and continuing south east along the rear boundaries of and excluding properties facing Bourne Lane, south and east around and excluding properties facing The Copse, south east from the south east corner of The Copse along the field boundary to join Rossiters Lane. East along the north verge of Rossiters Lane up to and including the pond. North west along the south verge of Bourne Lane to the junction with Paradise Lane. North and north west along the south verge of Paradise Lane to where it again joins Bourne Road. Across Bourne Road and west along the south side of the footpath and the following field boundary to Chinham Road. Around land including Kluang, Duncan, Jessamine, Methven, Chinham House and Yew Tree Cottage. West along the south verge of Chinham Road, north across the road opposite the west boundary of land including Old Grove Farm. North along the field boundary to include land including Old Grove Farm and the field to the north. West along the south verge of Southampton Road, crossing the road opposite the corner of and excluding St Brelade, north and west around but excluding the land of the junior school. Continuing west, north and west to exclude April Cottage and the buildings to the west, then joining and crossing Winsor Road. North along the west verge of Winsor Road up to and including land including 1 and 2 Thatched Cottage. North across The Brickyard, west and north to include land including properties facing Winsor Road up to and including land including Copythorne Parish Hall, also including Pollards Moor Road, and its north verge adjacent to the Hall and to its junction with Winsor Road. North east along the north verge of Winsor Road to the south side of the track to Kents Farm, north west along the south side of the track and south west and north west along the rear property boundaries of Winsor Road and Pollards Moor Road, joining Pollards Moor Road opposite Mulberry Cottage. Across to the south side of Pollards Moor Road and north west along the south verge of the road to the junction with Romsey Road.
