The Council of the City of Westminster hereby gives notice that they propose to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act to authorise the stopping-up of part of the footway of Arlington Street which lies in front of the entrance to the Ritz Hotel in Arlington Street. If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to carry out the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted to Lovells Solicitors by the City of Westminster on 9 May 2002, under Ref 01/09262/FULL. Copies of the draft Order and plan showing the area to be stopped-up may be inspected at all reasonable hours during the period of 28 days commencing on 9 January 2003, at the offices of Parkman, 3rd Floor, Mountbarrow House, 6-20 Elizabeth Street, London SW1W 9RB, and may be obtained, free of charge, (quoting Ref 1001641/2232/ORD2853/dc) at that address. Any person may object to the making of the proposed Order within the period of 28 days commencing on 9 January 2003 by notice to Parkman, quoting the above reference at the above-mentioned address. In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may be imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and that those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it. Schedule The Ritz Hotel, 150 Piccadilly, London W1J 9BS Alterations to the Arlington Street entrance canopy, steps and awning of the Ritz Hotel consisting of: (a) the installation of two stone urns on pedestals; (b) two flower troughs with cast iron surrounds; and (c) lengthwise extensions of the steps along the frontage of the building either side of the Arlington Street entrance to the hotel, adjacent to the existing steps. 9 January 2003.
