NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECTION 88
Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Schedule 10 of the Water Resources Act 1991 (as amended by the Environment Act 1995), that an application has been made to the Environment Agency by Yorkshire Water Services Ltd, Western House, Halifax Road, Bradford BD6 2LZ, for consent to discharge sewage effluent under storm or emergency conditions from Agbrigg Garage Sewage Pumping Station, Wakefield into the Oakenshaw Beck at National Grid Ref SE 3493 1924. The emergency application is in respect of an existing sewage pumping station which is fitted with an alarm, standby pump and generator socket (for use in times of mains electricity supply failure), and which will provide 2 hours storage at dry weather flow, in order to minimise the frequency of the emergency discharge. The storm sewage discharge will only occur in times of storm conditions in the sewerage catchment served by the pumping station. Any person who wishes to make representations or objections with respect to the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Phoenix House, Global Avenue, Leeds LS11 8PG, for the attention of Peter Baker, quoting Ref No R800199, not later than 27 September 2002. A copy of the application may be inspected, free of charge, at the local Environment Agency office at the above address, on weekdays between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm up to 27 September 2002.
