THE BARNET (PRESCRIBED ROUTE) (NO. 7) TRAFFIC ORDER 1999

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet have made on 12th October 1999, the above-mentioned Order under section 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984. The general effect of the Order will be to make permanent the experimental ban on traffic travelling in a south-easterly direction along Golders Green Road, N.W.11 from turning left into Finchley Road, N.W.11. The prohibitions referred to in paragraph 2 above will not apply in relation to anything done: (a) with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; (b) in accordance with traffic signs placed pursuant to section 66 or section 67 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984; (c) in relation to any vehicle being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes in an emergency. A copy of the Order which will come into operation on 18th October 1999, a plan of the scheme and the Council’s statement of reason for making the Order, can be inspected on Mondays to Fridays inclusive between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., until the expiration of a period of 6 weeks from that date at: (a) Traffic Section, Room 1006, Barnet House, 1255 High Road, Whetstone, London N20 0EJ; and (b) The Town Hall, The Burroughs, Hendon, London NW4 4BG. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order, or of any of its provisions, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, or that any of the requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been compllied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
