THE A96 TRUNK ROAD (FOCHABERS) (30 MPH SPEED LIMIT) VARIATION AND MILNES PRIMARY SCHOOL (PART-TIME 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 200
The Scottish Ministers hereby give notice that they propose to make the above Order under section 84(1)(a) and (c) as read with section 124(1)(d) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which will have the effect of imposing a part-time 20 mph speed limit on the following length of road which currently has a 30 mph speed limit:
That length of the A96 Aberdeen–Inverness Trunk Road at Fochabers from a point 71 metres or thereby west of its junction with the A98 Fraserburgh–Fochabers Road to a point 244 metres or thereby west of its junction with the A98 Fraserburgh–Fochabers Road, a distance of 173 metres or thereby.
The Fraserburgh–Fochabers (A98) and Aberdeen-Inverness (A96) Trunk Roads (Fochabers) (30 mph Speed Limit) Order 1994 will be varied by this Order to allow for the imposition of a 20 mph part-time speed limit over this length of road, to apply when indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
Full details of the proposal are contained in the Order which, together with a plan showing the length of road involved, a copy of the existing Order to be varied and a statement of the Scottish Ministers' reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be examined free of charge during normal business hours from 5 August 2005 until 2 September 2005 at the Scottish Executive Enterprise, Transport and Lifelong Learning Department, Network Management Division, Victoria Quay, Edinburgh; Fochabers Post Office, High Street, Fochabers; and BEAR Scotland Ltd, North East Secondary Depot, Blackhillock Quarry, Keith.
Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order should send details of the grounds for objection in writing to the Scottish Executive Enterprise, Transport and Lifelong Learning Department, Network Management Division, Victoria Quay, Edinburgh EH6 6QQ quoting reference UM/NNE/D/O/2/9 by 2 September 2005.
