TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (GENERAL PERMITTED DEVELOPMENT) (SCOTLAND) ORDER 1992
THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL RESTRICTION OF PERMITTED DEVELOPMENT DIRECTION NO. 7, 2003 (CURRIE CONSERVATION AREA)
Notice is hereby given by The City of Edinburgh Council as planning authority for the said City, that Scottish Ministers on 23rd March 2004 approved a Direction made by the said The City of Edinburgh Council under Article 4(i) of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (Scotland) Order 1992 on 28th November 2003 that the permission granted by Article 3 of the said Order shall not apply to any development or operation falling within Classes 1, 3, 6, 7, 18, 30, 33, 38, 39 or 40 of the First Schedule to the said Order in respect of development within the Currie Conservation Area.
The practical effect of said Direction is that within the boundary of said Conservation Area, development of the following description classed as “permitted development” in the said Order will now require planning permission:-
- | the enlargement, improvement or other alteration of a dwellinghouse; |
- | the provision, or the maintenance, improvement or other alteration, of any building or enclosure, swimming or other pool within the curtilage of a dwellinghouse; |
- | the installation, alteration or replacement of a satellite antenna on a dwellinghouse or within the curtilage of a dwellinghouse; |
- | the erection, construction, maintenance, improvement or alteration of a gate, fence, wall or other means of enclosure; |
- | the carrying out on agricultural land comprised in an agricultural unit of works for the erection, extension or alteration of a building, the formation, alteration or maintenance of private ways or any excavation or engineering operation, requisite for the purposes of agriculture within that unit; |
- | the erection or construction and the maintenance, improvement or other alteration by a local authority of any building, works or equipment not exceeding 4 metres in height or 200 cubic metres in capacity, and lamp standards, refuse bins, public shelters and similar structures or works; |
- | the carrying out, within their own district by a planning authority of works for the erection of dwellinghouses, development under the Housing (Scotland) Act 1987 and development the estimated cost of which does not exceed £100,000; |
- | development by statutory undertakers for the purposes of water undertakings; |
- | development by a public gas transporter for the purpose of its undertaking; |
- | development by statutory undertakers for the generation, transmission or supply of electricity. |
A copy of the Direction and a map defining the boundaries of the area subject to the Direction may be inspected at the office of the Director of City Development, 1 Cockburn Street, Edinburgh without payment of fee from Monday to Thursday between 8.30am and 5.00pm and on Friday between 8.30am and 3.40pm.
