FLOOD PREVENTION (SCOTLAND) ACT 1961
THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL
WATER OF LEITH FLOOD PREVENTION SCHEME 2003
Notice is hereby given in terms of the Second Schedule to the Flood Prevention (Scotland) Act 1961, that The City of Edinburgh Council being the applicable local authority within the meaning of the said Act for the purpose of preventing or mitigating the flooding of land in their area, not being agricultural land, intend to apply to the Scottish Executive for confirmation of a Flood Prevention Scheme under Section 4(1) of the said Act, providing for the execution of certain flood prevention operations on the Water of Leith. A copy of the Scheme and the relevant plans may be inspected without payment of fee at The City of Edinburgh Council, City Development Department, Main Reception at 1 Cockburn Street, Edinburgh during the hours 0830 to 1630 Monday and Tuesday, 0900 to 1630 Wednesday, 0830 to 1630 Thursday and 0830 to 1530 Friday, at The City of Edinburgh Council, Information Office, City Chambers, High Street, Edinburgh during the hours 0830 to 1700 Monday to Thursday and 0830 to 1630 Friday, at the West Calder Library, Main Street, West Calder during the hours Monday and Friday, 1000 to 1730 Wednesday, 1030 to 1730 Tuesday and Thursday, 1000 to 2000 Saturday, 930 to 1300 and at selected local Edinburgh City Libraries and The Water of Leith Visitor Centre during their opening hours for a period of 3 months from the first publication of this notice.
Any person may within this period by notice to the Scottish Ministers object to the confirmation of this Scheme. Any such objection should be sent to the Scottish Executive, Environment Group, Air Climate and Engineering Unit, Victoria Quay, Edinburgh, EH6 6QQ.
