A26 GLARRYFORD TO A44 DRONES ROAD DUALLING SCHEME

ROADS (AMENDMENT) (NORTHERN IRELAND) ORDER 2004

Notice is hereby given that local public inquiries will be held in Tullyglass Hotel, Galgorm Road, Ballymena BT42 1HJ starting at 10.00 am on 5 November 2012 into the proposals of the Department for Regional Development (the Department) listed below.

The Department has appointed Ms Eileen Brady as Inspector to hold inquiries to consider-

1. the Environmental Statement prepared by the Department for the proposed A26 Glarryford to A44 Drones Road Dualling scheme, together with opinions expressed in relation to it under the provisions of Articles 67A and 130 of the Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993;

2. the proposal to make The Trunk Road T7 (A26 Dualling Glarryford to A44 Drones Road Junction) Order (Northern Ireland) 2012 under Articles 14 and 68 of the Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993;

3. the proposal to make an order under Article 113 of the Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993 and Schedule 6 to the Local Government Act (Northern Ireland) 1972 for the purpose of acquiring compulsorily the lands for the construction of a dual carriageway along the A26 from just south of B64 Glarryford Crossroads to just north of A44 Drones Road junction; and

4. the proposal to make The Private Accesses (A26 Dualling Glarryford to A44 Drones Road Junction) (Stopping-up) Order (Northern Ireland) 2012 under Article 69 of the Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993.

Proceedings on items 1, 2 & 3 are being taken concurrently in accordance with Article 133A of the Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993 and proceedings into item 4 will be held at the conclusion of the initial inquiries.

Documents and maps relating to the proposals may be inspected during office hours, until the commencement of the inquiry, at the Roads Service offices of the Department:

• Northern Division, County Hall, Galgorm Road, Ballymena;

• Northern Division, Ballymoney & Moyle Section Office, Trillick

House, 49 Queen Street, Ballymoney; and

• Headquarters, Room 2-13, Clarence Court, 10-18 Adelaide Street, Belfast.

During this period, further information relating to the proposals may be obtained from Roads Service - Northern Division, County Hall, Castlerock Road, Coleraine BT51 3HS and on the Roads Service website at: www.roadsni.gov.uk/A26Frosses.

All persons interested in the proposals and such other persons as the person appointed to hold the inquiry in his discretion thinks fit to allow, may attend and be heard.
