ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE LEWISHAM (PRESCRIBED ROUTES) (NO. 1) TRAFFIC ORDER 2007
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lewisham Council made this traffic order under the provisions of section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the 23 March 2007. The order comes into force on the 9 April 2007.
2. The general nature and effect of the order is to revoke and reintroduce the provisions of the Lewisham (Prescribed Routes) (No. 1) Traffic Order 2003, retaining one-way working southbound in New King Street and eastbound in Prince Street from Czar Street to New King Street, in order to provide for—
Contra-flow track on the footway on the south side of Prince Street between New King Street and Czar Street, allowing pedal cycles to travel westbound on the southern footway, its use shared between pedestrians and cyclists.
3. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the order and measures can be inspected between the hours of 10am. and 4pm. on Mondays to Fridays at the office of Lewisham Highways Development, Wearside Service Centre (Door-to-door building), Wearside Road, Ladywell, London, SE13 (tel. 020-8314 2265).
4. Any person wishing to question the validity of the order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument or relevant regulation made under the Act has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
