The Queen's Birthday Honours List 2020

The Queen’s Birthday Honours Lists recognise the achievements and service of people across the UK, from all walks of life. Along with the New Year Honours, they are the most significant announcements of civilian and military gallantry awards.

Birthday Honours 2020 List

When are the Queen's Birthday Honours 2020 announced?

The Queen’s Birthday and New Year honours lists are each published in the official newspaper of the Crown, The Gazette. Though the 2020 Birthday Honours were due to be announced in a Gazette supplement in June 2020, due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, they will now be announced in the autumn.

According to Prime Minister Boris Johnson: “This step will allow us to ensure that the list, agreed before this public health emergency developed, reflects the COVID-19 effort, and comes at a time when we can properly celebrate the achievements of all those included.”

Where can I find all Birthday and New Year Honours Lists?

As well as appearing in the supplement, all recipients will have their own separate notice entry in the Awards and accreditations section on The Gazette website.

You can see all Birthday and New Year honours supplements from 1940 to 2020, and from 1860 to 1939.
