Friday 7 July 2017 marks the centenary of the establishment of the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) – the first time women were formally enrolled in UK armed forces.

The Royal British Legion is marking this centenary with a service at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire, with a morning drumhead ceremony followed by a reception. Open from 9am until 5pm, guests can explore more than 300 memorials across the 150-acre site.
