HIGHWAYS ACT 1980, SECTION 116

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the City of Stoke-on-Trent as highway authority intends to apply to the South Staffordshire Magistrates’ Court sitting at the South Staffordshire Magistrates’ Court, The Court House, South Walls, Stafford, ST16 3DW at 9.30 a.m. on the 11th day of September 2013 for an order that the length of highway known as the alley to the rear of 295–307 Newcastle Street and 3–39 Trubshaw Street, Middleport, Stoke-on-Trent for a distance of approximately 80 metres from its junction with Bridgewater Street, Middleport, and more particularly shown hatched on the plan attached hereto be authorised to be stopped up on the ground that it is unnecessary.

The effect of the said order and the length of highway is shown on a plan which may be inspected free of charge at the offices of the Assistant Director Legal Services, Stoke-on-Trent City Council, Gordon House, Kingsway, Stoke-on-Trent during normal office hours.

On the hearing of the application any person to whom the notice has been given, any person who uses the said highway and any other person who would be aggrieved by the making of the order applied for will have the right to be heard.
