TWEEDDALE ROAD, SUTTON

  • 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Sutton on 2 July 2012 made the Orders detailed below under sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Legislation: Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Legislation: Local Government Act 1985, the Legislation: Road Traffic Act 1991 and the Legislation: Traffic Management Act 2004 .
  • 2 The principal objectives of the Orders are to make permanent the provisions of Experimental Orders 2011 No. 2 and 2011 No 3.
  • 3 The general effect of The Sutton (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (No.4) (Amendment No. 5) Order 2012 will be to continue in force indefinitely the ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions where ‘waiting’ will be prohibited at all times for short lengths of road outside the Tweeddale Centre.

The general effect of The Sutton (Free Parking Places) (Limited Time) (No. 1) (Amendment No. 15) Order 2012 will be to continue in force indefinitely the 2 free parking places with a notional capacity of 6 parking spaces operating Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 6.30 pm and waiting limited to 20 minutes with no return within two hours outside the Tweeddale Centre.

  • 4 Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 9 July 2012, containing the Council's Statement of Reasons for making the Orders (and of the Orders that would be revoked or amended by these Orders), and a plan showing the locations and effect of the Orders may be examined at the Council’s Civic Offices at St. Nicholas Way, Sutton and at the Environment and Leisure Offices at 24 Denmark Road, Carshalton between 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday.
  • 5 If any person wishes to question the validity of the Orders or of any of their provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Legislation: Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of the said Act of 1984 or of any instrument made under the said Act of 1984 has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
