THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO. 24) ORDER 2012

  • 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council on 25th June 2012 made the above Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.
  • 2 The general effects of the Orders will be, in connection with environmental improvements, to revise the layout of parking facilities in London Street and Norfolk Square, as follows:
    • a to replace a residents’ parking space outside No. 19 London Street with a pay-by-phone bay;
    • b to relocate a disabled persons’ ‘blue badge’ parking bay from outside No. 21 to outside No. 20 London Street (to replace a residents’ parking space);
    • c to introduce two residents’ parking spaces outside No. 22 London Street;
    • d to provide an additional pay-by-phone parking bay on the north-west side of the south-eastern arm of Norfolk Square (opposite No. 24 London Street);
    • e to make a minor revision to the layout of the two doctor’s parking bays and a residents’ parking bay opposite Nos. 17 to 19 London Street, and remove a 2.5 metre length of double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions at this location;
    • f to introduce double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions:
      • i outside No. 5a London Street (approximately 5 metres) to replace a pay-by-phone bay parking bay and existing single yellow lines;
      • ii outside No. 10 London Street (approximately 5 metres) to replace a pay-by-phone bay parking bay;
      • iii outside No. 21 London Street / No. 168 Sussex Gardens (approximately 23 metres), opposite No. 12 London Street (approximately 5 metres), outside No. 14 to 16 (approximately 11 metres) and at the junction of Norfolk Square Mews (approximately 8 metres) to replace single yellow lines at these locations.
      ii outside No. 10 London Street (approximately 5 metres) to replace a pay-by-phone bay parking bay; iii outside No. 21 London Street / No. 168 Sussex Gardens (approximately 23 metres), opposite No. 12 London Street (approximately 5 metres), outside No. 14 to 16 (approximately 11 metres) and at the junction of Norfolk Square Mews (approximately 8 metres) to replace single yellow lines at these locations.
  • 3 The Orders, which will come into force on 30th June 2012, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection until 6th August 2012 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at West One, 10th Floor, Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 6QP.
  • 4 Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
