THE LONDON BOROUGH OF RICHMOND UPON THAMES (RICHMOND TOWN) (PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT NO. 2) ORDER 2012

PARKSHOT, RICHMOND

  • 1 The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames on 11 April 2012 made the above Order under sections 45, 46, 49 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Legislation: Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
  • 2 The general effect of the Order is to alter the designation of 6 parking places in Parkshot, Richmond from their current status of pay and display parking, maximum stay 2 hours to shared use parking, where vehicles may be parked either as pay and display with a maximum stay of 2 hours or without time limit when displaying a valid resident’s parking permit or a residents’ visitors permit ( Zone A1 ).
  • 3 The times when the parking controls are in force are not being altered by this order, and remain as being on Mondays to Saturdays between 8.30am and 6.30pm and on Sundays and bank holidays between 11am and 5pm .
  • 4 The order also makes some textual corrections to the descriptions of other parking bays in Parkshot and in The Green, Richmond to improve their accuracy and allow for better enforcement.
  • 5 Copies of the Order, which will come into operation on 8 May 2012, a plan showing the location and effect of the order and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order:—
    • a can be inspected, quoting Reference 17/12, at the Civic Centre (Central Reception, ground floor), 44 York Street, Twickenham between 9.15am and 5pm on Mondays to Fridays, except for Bank and other public holidays; and
    • b may be viewed on the Council’s web-site at http://www.richmond.gov.uk/traffic_management_orders.htm
  • 6 Copies of this Order may be purchased from the Environment Directorate, Civic Centre, 44 York Street, Twickenham TW1 3BZ .
  • 7 Persons wishing to question the validity of this Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirement of the Act or any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
