FORMER OWNER (CRICHEL DOWN) CONSIDERATIONS

GCHQ SITE (OAKLEY) AND OAKLEY FARM, CHELTENHAM, GLOUCESTERSHIRE

Land at the above location has been declared surplus to Ministry of Defence (MOD) requirements and is to be sold. The Crichel Down Rules require Government Departments, under certain circumstances, to offer back surplus land to the former owner or their successors in title at current market value.

However, no decision has been made in this instance whether the land known as GCHQ Site (Oakley) is to be offered back or not because exemptions may apply. In order that we can be sure that we have applied the rules correctly, Defence Infrastructure Organisation wish to trace anyone who may fall within the definition of former owner, or successor in title contained in the Crichel Down Rules, and invite them to express a reasoned opinion (with supporting evidence) if they believe that the exceptions to the general obligation to offer back should not apply and to notify them of the final decision.

Part of the land known as Oakley Farm is to be offered back. MOD therefore wishes to trace anyone who may fall within the definition of former owner or successor(s) in title contained in the Crichel Down Rules.

Former Owner: Barbara Frances Nash

The former owner or their successor(s) in title (other than through purchase) are invited to contact Defence Infrastructure Organisation by writing within two months of the date of this notice to:

Michael E . Russell, Defence Infrastructure Organisation, Room 240, Second Floor, Wellington House, St. Omer Barracks, Aldershot, Hampshire GU11 2BG

Successors in title should state and provide evidence of their relationship to the former owner.
