NOTICE OF INTENTION TO STOP UP HIGHWAY

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City and County of Swansea (hereinafter called “the Council”) being the highway authority in respect of the highway hereinafter mentioned and, as such, the appropriate authority within the meaning of Section 116 of the Highway Act 1980 hereby gives notice that on Monday, 23rd January, 2012, at 10.00 a.m. the said Council intends pursuant to the said section, to make an application to the Magistrates Court sitting at Grove Place Swansea for an order to authorise the stopping-up of an area of highway having an approximate length of 500 metres or thereabouts and a general width of 12 metres or thereabouts with an overall total area of 3,800 square metres or thereabouts forming a section of the highway known as Felindre Road Llangyfelach in the City and County of Swansea on the ground that it is unnecessary as public highway. A plan showing the highway to be stopped up may be inspected free of charge between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. on weekdays (excluding Saturdays) from the Legal, Democratic Services & Procurement Department, Civic Centre Oystermouth Road Swansea (on application firstly to main reception).

On the hearing of the said application, any person to whom notice is given, any person who uses the said highway and any other person who would be aggrieved by the making of the order of which application is being made shall have the right to be heard.
