ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE A302, A202 AND A3214 GLA ROADS (VICTORIA STREET, WILTON ROAD AND BUCKINGHAM PALACE ROAD, CITY OF WESTMINSTER) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF STOPPING, SUSPENSION OF BUS LANE AND PROHIBITED TURN) ORDER 2011

  • 1 Transport for London hereby gives notice that it has made the above named Traffic Order under sections 14(1), (5), (7) and 15(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.
  • 2 The purpose of the Order is to facilitate the safe movement of traffic, buses and pedestrians in the City of Westminster during the Victoria Underground Station upgrade works and it is satisfied that the works will last in excess of 18 months.
  • 3 The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from:

(1) stopping on A302 Victoria Street between the extended common boundary of Nos. 122 and 124 A302 Victoria Street and the extended common boundary of No. 126 (Victoria Palace Theatre) and Nos. 132 and 134 (Duke of York public house) A302 Victoria Street;

(2) stopping in the loading and unloading bay outside No 17 Wilton Road (the Victoria Apollo Theatre) A202 Wilton Road.

The Order also permits:

(3) any vehicle being used in connection with the Victoria Station upgrade works that turns left from A3214 Buckingham Palace Road into Terminus Place to use the southbound bus lane on A3214 Victoria Street between its junctions with A302 Victoria Street and Terminus Place;

(4) any vehicle being used in connection with the Victoria Station upgrade works to turn left from A3214 Buckingham Palace Road into Terminus Place.

The Order will be effective at certain times from 00.01 hours on the 25th September 2011 until the works have been completed. The prohibitions will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

  • 4 The prohibitions will not apply in respect of:

(1) any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;

(2) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.

  • 5 The Order will be revoked upon completion of the works.
