NEW ROADS AND STREET WORKS ACT 1991

SECTION 58 NOTICE OF SUBSTANTIAL WORK

• 1 With the agreement of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, Canary Wharf Contractors Ltd hereby gives three months advance notice to carry out substantial road works.
• 2 These works will take place around the junction of the Heron Quays Roundabout with Westferry Road, Heron Quay Road and Marsh Wall. The area of works extend:
  • a 115m south of the Heron Quays roundabout along Marsh Wall and Westferry Road
  • b 105m north of the Heron Quays roundabout along the north and southbound carriageways of Westferry Road
  • c 90m east of the Heron Quays roundabout along Heron Quay Road
• 3 The work will affect the existing roundabout, carriageways and the footway over the whole width of the above area of the public highway.
• 4 The works notified will comprise the reconstruction of a new junction within the above described area, including new traffic islands, pedestrian crossings, realignment of the kerbs, new road construction and pavement surfaces, associated landscaping, surface water drainage and construction of speed tables.
• 5 Subject to the exemption in the Act and Regulations under it, no street works may be executed for a period of 12 months from completion of the works described in paragraph 2 without the consent of the said Highway Authority, which shall not be unreasonably withheld.
