SUCCESSOR POSTAL SERVICES COMPANY OVERSEAS LETTER POST SCHEME 2001

NOTE: [This note is not part of the Scheme]

The amendment to the Scheme that follows this Note is made under Section 89 of the Postal Services Act 2000 and amends the Successor Postal Services Company Overseas Letter Post Scheme 2001. This amendment to the Scheme, which comes into force on 4 April 2011, provides notification of changes to the prices for several services set out in the Schedules and minor other amendments.

SCHEME 2011 (AMENDMENT No 19) OLPS 1 / 2011.

Royal Mail Group Ltd ^(a) by virtue of the powers conferred upon it by section 89 of the POSTAL SERVICES ACT 2000 ^(b) and of all other powers enabling it in this behalf, hereby makes the following Scheme:

Commencement, citation and interpretation

• 1 This amendment to the Scheme shall come into operation on 4 April and may be cited as the Royal Mail Group Ltd Overseas Letter Post Amendment (No.19) Scheme 2011.
• 2 This amendment to the Scheme shall be read as one with the Successor Postal Services Company Overseas Letter Post Scheme 2001(c) (referred to as “the Scheme”) as amended by:

3. A reference in this Scheme to the Successor Postal Services Company shall be read as a reference to Royal Mail Group Ltd.

Part 2 .9. AEROGRAMMES replaced with the following

There shall be charged and paid:

• a on every Airletter sold singly postage of 85p, on every pack of 6 Airletters postage of £4.25, on every pictorial Airletter sold singly postage of 85p.
• b on every Forces Airletter, postage of 46p. These prices are exempt from VAT

Part 5. 32A. SENDING AIRSURE PACKETS, AIRSURE PACKS, INTERNATIONAL SIGNED FOR PACKETS AND INTERNATIONAL SIGNED FOR PACKS. Under (2) addition of

(v) Compensation for mobile telephones is restricted to 100 times the price of a first class stamp

37.  COMPENSATION FOR INCOMING INSURED LETTERS replaced with the following

Royal Mail will no longer offer an Inbound Insured Letters service with effect from 1st April 2011. From that date, loss or damage to such items shall be handled in accordance with Royal Mail’s general terms and conditions.

37A. COMPENSATION FOR AIRSURE PACKETS, AIRSURE PACKS, INTERNATIONAL SIGNED FOR PACKETS AND INTERNATIONAL SIGNED FOR PACKS – replacement of (1b)

(1b) The maximum amount of compensation payable in respect of lost or damaged mobile telephones shall not exceed 100 times the cost of a first class stamp per postal packet, parcel (or any other posting of any description), regardless of the number of mobile telephones in it.

38. COMPENSATION FOR CERTAIN OTHER POSTAL PACKETS – replacement of (2)

(2) The total amount of compensation which the Post Office may pay under sub-paragraph (1) in respect of any one postal packet and its contents shall not in any case exceed 100 times the value of an inland first class stamp.

39. ADVICE OF DELIVERY, ENQUIRIES AND CLAIMS FOR COMPENSATION

Additionally, VAT will be payable on Airsure packets for EU destinations. The following table details the prices for Airsure items to EU destinations, including both the stamp price and the Airsure fee. The fee for additional compensation is £3. International Stamped airmail prices are exempt from VAT; however, when bought with Airsure the total price will become liable to VAT at the standard rate (for items to EU only, all non-EU Airmail with Airsure will be zero-rated)

The fee payable by the addressee requesting the service is £1.50 inclusive of VAT. For local collect business the fees are 75p per label subject to a minimum order of 250 labels, therefore £187.50 (excluding VAT) or £225.00 (inclusive of VAT).
