  • 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Southwark (hereinafter called “the Council”) on 11 March 2010 made the above-mentioned Orders under sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
  • 2 The general effect of the (Car Club) (Parking Places) Order, which will come into force on 18 March 2010, will be on an experimental basis to provide car club parking places which will operate at any time for vehicles displaying a valid car club permit at the following locations:—

ALBION STREET, the north-west side, opposite No. 34 Albion Street;

ASHBOURNE GROVE, the south side, 25.5, west of Lordship Lane;

BAGSHOT STREET, the north-east side, adjacent to No. 120 Albany Road;

BALACLAVA ROAD, the west side, adjacent to No. 48 Southwark Park Road;

BENHILL ROAD, the west side, adjacent to No. 42 Vicarage Road;

BERMONDSEY STREET, the north-west side, 26 metres south-west of its junction with Long Lane;

BERRYFIELD ROAD, the south-west side, outside No. 7 Berryfield Road;

BRAGANZA STREET, the north-east side, opposite No. 54 Braganza Street;

BRUNSWICK PARK, the south side, outside No. 2 Brunswick Park;

  • 3 The general effect of the remaining (Parking Places) Orders will be, where necessary, to convert, split or reduce in length any existing parking places currently located in the lengths of street referred to above, so as to accommodate the provision of Car Club parking places at these locations.

  • 5 Copies of the proposed Order and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposals can be inspected upon request at Environment & Housing, Public Realm, 160 Tooley Street, London SE1 2TZ during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays from 11 March 2010 until the Orders cease to have effect.   • 6 The Council will in due course be considering whether the provisions of the Orders should be continued in force indefinitely by means of permanent Orders made under section 6 and 45 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Any person may object to the making of the permanent Orders for the purpose of such indefinite continuation within a period of six months beginning with the day on which the experimental Orders come into force or, if the Orders are varied by another Order or modified pursuant to section 10(2) of the 1984 Act, beginning with the day on which the variation or modification or the latest variation or modification came into force. Any such objection must be in writing and must state the grounds on which it is made and be sent to the Traffic Orders Officer, Road Network & Parking, Southwark Council, 3rd Floor Hub 1, 160 Tooley Street., London SE1 2TZ. Any objection may be communicated to, or be seen by, other persons who may be affected.
  • 7 If any person wishes to question the validity of any the Orders or of any of their provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
