THE A590 TRUNK ROAD (NEWBY BRIDGE)

(40 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 20**

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Transport intends to make an Order under Sections 84(1)(a) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the A590 Trunk Road in the District of South Lakeland in the County of Cumbria.

The Order will impose a 40 miles per hour speed limit on a section of the A590 Trunk Road at Newby Bridge, from a point 60 metres south east of the point at which the A590 Trunk Road meets the A590 / A592 circulatory carriageway at its north west entry point, to a point 125 metres east of the eastern bull nose of the kerbed island of the dual carriageway section of the A590 Trunk Road, immediately west of Newby Bridge.

The speed limit will not apply to vehicles being used for emergency purposes by the police, fire and rescue or ambulance services.

A copy of the Order, together with the relevant plan and a statement of reasons for proposing to make this Order, have been deposited at The Newby Bridge Hotel, Newby Bridge, near Ulverston, Cumbria, LA12 8NA, where they may be inspected during normal opening hours, or may be seen at or obtained by application to the Director, The Highways Agency, Network Delivery and Development Directorate, Room 810, City Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester, M1 4BE, quoting reference HA 28/3/195 Part 1.

Any Person wishing to object to the Secretary of State’s proposals to make this Order should send a written statement of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Director’s address given above quoting HA 28/3/195 Part 1, to be received no later than 19 March 2010.

When submitting an objection, it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection may be communicated to other people who may be affected by it.
