THE CAMDEN (PARKING PLACES) (CA-F) (AMENDMENT NO.39) TRAFFIC ORDER 2009
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Council of the London Borough of Camden on 09 November 2009 made these Orders under Sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The Orders will come into force on 27 November 2009 .
The general nature and effect of the Orders will be to introduce a “Restricted Zone” in those parts of Camden High Street and Chalk Farm Road which lie between the red route boundary near the junction with Parkway and Kentish Town Road and the junction with Castlehaven Road and Camden Lock Place, and also in parts of Buck Street, Hawley Crescent, Inverness Street and Jamestown Road at or about their junctions with Camden High Street.
Within the “Restricted Zone”:
(1) waiting by vehicles (including waiting for the purpose of loading or unloading a vehicle) will be prohibited at any time, except for vehicles using the loading/parking places specified in paragraph (2) below in accordance with the times and conditions specified in paragraph (3) below;
(Note: All the parts of streets within the “Restricted Zone” are currently subject to waiting restrictions which may be at different times to those implemented as part of this scheme.)
(2) loading/parking places will be provided at the following locations:
- a in Camden High Street, on the north-east side—
- i partly outside Camden Town London Underground Station and outside Nos. 178 to 184 Camden High Street;
- ii outside Camden Market (between Dewsbury Terrace and Buck Street);
- iii outside Nos. 204 to 210 Camden High Street;
- iv outside Nos. 214 to 220 Camden High Street;
- b in Camden High Street, on the south-west side—
- i outside Nos. 209 to 219 Camden High Street;
- ii outside Nos. 223 to 233 Camden High Street;
- iii outside Nos. 243 to 251 Camden High Street;
- iv outside Nos. 255 to 261 Camden High Street;
- v outside Nos. 273 to 283 Camden High Street; and
- c in Chalk Farm Road, on the south-west side, outside Nos. 200 to 218 Chalk Farm Road.
(3) loading/parking places will operate as follows:
- a between 8.30 am and 6.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, for the use of vehicles that are being continually loaded or unloaded only;
- b between midnight and 8.30 am and between 6.30 pm and midnight on Mondays to Fridays inclusive and between midnight and 9.30 am and between 6 pm and midnight on Saturdays and Sundays, for the unrestricted use of vehicles.
(Note: Vehicles must be parked wholly within the limits of a loading/parking place. If a vehicle cannot meet this requirement, it must not use the loading/parking place.)
(4) the existing pay & display parking place in Camden High Street is hereby revoked.
A copy of the Orders, of the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Orders and of any Order revoked or amended by the Orders, may be inspected/obtained, until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made, at the Culture and Environment Reception Desk, fifth floor, Camden Town Hall, Argyle Street, WC1H 8EQ.
Any person wishing to question the validity of either of the Orders or any of their provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
