MEETING HOUSE LANE - ROAD SAFETY MEASURES

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO. *) ORDER 2009

  • 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Southwark (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”) propose to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
  • 2 The general effect of the (Waiting & Loading Restrictions) Order would be to introduce new lengths of ‘At any time’ Waiting Restrictions at the following locations:
    • a CARLTON GROVE, (i) the east side, between the south-eastern kerb-line of Meeting House Lane and a point 18.5 metres south of that kerb-line, and (ii) the west side, between the south-eastern kerb-line of Meeting House Lane and a point 9.5 metres south of that kerb-line;
    • b MEETING HOUSE LANE, (i) the north-west side, between a point 12 metres south-west of the western kerb-line of Naylor Road and a point 11.5 metres north-east of the eastern kerb-line of Naylor Road, (ii) the north-west side, between a point 12.5 metres south-west of the south-western kerb-line of Springall Street and a point 12 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerb-line of Springall Street, (iii) the south-east side, between a point 11.5 metres south-west of the western kerb-line of Carlton Grove and a point 12.5 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerb-line of Carlton Grove, and (iv) the south-east side, between a point 11 metres south-west of the western kerb-line of Montpelier Road and a point 11.5 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerb-line of Montpelier Road;
    • c MONTPELIER ROAD, (i) the east side, between the south-eastern kerb-line of Meeting House Lane and a point 13 metres south of that kerb-line, and (ii) the west side, between the south-eastern kerb-line of Meeting House Lane and a point 8.5 metres south of that kerb-line;
    • d NAYLOR ROAD, (i) the east side, between the north-western kerb-line of Meeting House Lane and a point 10.5 metres north of that kerb-line, and (ii) the west side, between the north-western kerb-line of Meeting House Lane and a point 13.5 metres north of that kerb-line;
    • e SPRINGALL STREET, (i) the north-east side, between the north-western kerb-line of Meeting House Lane and a point 10 metres north-west of that kerb-line, and (ii) the south-west side, between the north-western kerb-line of Meeting House Lane and a point 10.5 metres north-west of that kerb-line.
  • 3 FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council, under sections 90A to 90I of the Highways Act 1980 and in accordance with the provisions of the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 and the Highways (Traffic Calming) Regulations 1999, propose to construct speed tables of flat top construction, 75 millimetres in height and covering the entire width of the carriageway at the following locations:
    • a MEETING HOUSE LANE, extending from a point 12 metres south-west of the western kerb-line of Naylor Road to a point 11.5 metres north-east of the eastern kerb-line of Carlton Grove, and extending into (i) NAYLOR ROAD northward for a distance of 8 metres from the north-western kerb-line of Meeting House Lane, and (ii) CARLTON GROVE southward for a distance of 13.5 metres from the south-eastern kerb-line of Meeting House Lane.
    • b MEETING HOUSE LANE, extending from a point 7 metres south-west of the south-western kerb-line of Springall Street to a point 7.5 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerb-line of Springall Street, and extending into (i) SPRINGALL STREET north-westward for a distance of 8 metres from the north-western kerb-line of Meeting House Lane, and (ii) MONTPELIER ROAD southward for a distance of 11.5 metres from the south-eastern kerb-line of Meeting House Lane.

  • 7 Under the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, any letter you write in response to this Notice may be made available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they so wished.
