THE EALING (BUS PRIORITY) (AMENDMENT NO. 19) TRAFFIC ORDER 2009
- 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Ealing on 30th April 2009 made the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The Orders will come into force on 3rd May 2009.
- 2 The general effect of the Waiting and Loading Restriction Order will be to—
A. introduce additional lengths of “at any time” waiting restrictions in Greenford Road, Greenford;
B. vary the lengths of certain existing “at any time” waiting restrictions in Bingley Road and Greenford Road, Greenford;
C. change the hours of operation of certain existing “peak-hour” Mondays to Fridays loading restrictions in Greenford Road, Greenford so that they operate “at any time”.
- 3 The new arrangement of “at any time” waiting restrictions and loading restrictions are specified in Schedules 1 and 2 respectively to this Notice.
- 4 The general effect of the Disabled Persons Free Parking Places Order will be to provide in Greenford Road, Greenford, a parking place outside Nos. 165/167 and another outside Nos. 276/278, which may be used at all times and without time limit only by vehicles displaying a disabled person’s “blue badge”.
- 5 The general effect of the Free Parking Places Order will be to provide free parking places at various locations on Greenford Road, Greenford, between Ruislip Road (The Broadway)/Ruislip Road East and just south of Bingley Road, which will be available for use at all times and without time limit.
- 6 The general effect of the Bus Priority Order will be to introduce a new northbound, with-flow bus lane to operate between 7 am and 10 am and between 4 pm and 7 pm on Mondays to Fridays on the west side of Greenford Road, Greenford, from a point 1 metre south of the southern wall of No. 137 to a point 1 metre south of the common boundary of Nos. 165 and 167. The bus lane will be for the use of buses, taxis, local buses, dial-a-ride buses, pedal cycles and solo motor cycles (the latter are currently allowed to use bus lanes in the London Borough of Ealing on an experimental basis).

- 8 The Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at Mouchel Limited, 6th Floor, 58 Uxbridge Road, Ealing, London W5 2ST, until 6 weeks have elapsed from the date on which the Orders are made.
- 9 If any person wishes to question the validity of the Orders or of any of their provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.

Schedule 1
(“at any time” waiting restrictions)
Greenford Road, Greenford
- a the east side—
- i from the common boundary of Nos. 119 and 121 Greenford Road northwards for 5.8 metres;
- ii from a point 13.8 metres south of the southern side of the access road lying between Cardinal Wiseman RC School and No. 288 Greenford Road to the southern kerb-line of Ruislip Road East, excluding the lay-bys;
- b the west side—
- i from a point 1.8 metres south of the common boundary of Nos. 119 and 121 Greenford Road to a point 4.3 metres north of that common boundary;
- ii from a point 9 metres north of the common boundary of Nos. 133 and 135 Greenford Road to the southern kerb-line of Ruislip Road (known as The Broadway), excluding the lay bays.
Bingley Road, Greenford
both sides, from the western kerb-line of Greenford Road to a point 11 metres south-east of the south-eastern wall of No. 2 Bingley Road.
Schedule 2
(“at any time” loading restrictions)
Greenford Road, Greenford
- a the east side, from a point 0.7 metre south of the common boundary of Nos. 145 and 147 Greenford Road to the southern kerb-line of Ruislip Road East;
- b the west side, from a point 5.5 metres north of the northern wall of No. 171 Greenford Road to the southern kerb-line of Ruislip Road (known as The Broadway).
