Notice is hereby given that Barnsley Building Society, Register No. 24B, whose principal office is at Permanent Building, Regent Street, Barnsley S70 2EH desires to transfer its engagements to Yorkshire Building Society, Register No. 66B, and that each society has applied to the Financial Services Authority (FSA), to confirm the transfer.

Notice is hereby given that Yorkshire Building Society, Register No. 66B, whose principal office is at Yorkshire House, Yorkshire Drive, Bradford BD5 8LJ desires to accept a transfer of the engagements of Barnsley Building Society, Register No. 24B, and that each society has applied to the FSA to confirm the transfer.

Any interested party may make written representations to the FSA and/or give notice of intention to make oral representations to the FSA with respect to the application. Written representations and notices of intention to make oral representations should be received by the Financial Services Authority, 11th Floor, RFD, Banking & Mortgages Department, 25 The North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HS, marked “Barnsley/Yorkshire merger” or by e-mail to eric.engstrom@fsa.gov.uk by 3 December 2008. If notice is given of oral representations these will be heard by the FSA on 15 December 2008, at a time and place to be determined by the FSA.
