RELATING TO WAITING RESTRICTIONS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS AND TO ‘STOP AND SHOP’ PARKING BAYS IN BANSTEAD ROAD
- 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Sutton proposes to make the above Orders under sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985, the Road Traffic Act 1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004.
- 2 The principal objectives of the Orders are to improve sight lines at dangerous junctions, avoid congestion - especially for emergency vehicles, and allow safe passage for pedestrians crossing the roads at dropped crossings.
- 3 The general effect of The Sutton (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (No. *) (Amendment No. *) Order 200* will be to:—
- a introduce waiting restrictions “no waiting at any time” in the following lengths of
road:-
- i Barrow Hedges Way, Carshalton outside Nos. 1 to 5;
- ii Beddington Lane, Beddington at its junction with Harrington Close;
- iii Blakehall Road, Carshalton at its junction with Carshalton Park Road;
- iv Carlisle Road, Sutton at the island site at its junction with Quarry Park Road;
- v Carshalton Park Road, Carshalton in three locations; at its junction with Blakehall Road; at its junction with Wales Avenue; and at the entrance to the car park at No. 156 ‘Vyne House’;
- vi Chiltern Road, Carshalton at its junctions with The Gallop and Woodbury Drive;
- vii Church Lane, Beddington outside Nos. 15 to 21;
- viii Colburn Way, Sutton at its junction with Paget Avenue;
- ix Dalmeny Road, Worcester Park at its junctions with Kingsmead Avenue;
- x Gomshall Avenue, Wallington at its junction with Hindhead Way;
- xi Harrington Close, Beddington in two locations; at its junction with Beddington Lane; and at the junction of the two arms of Harrington Close;
- xii Hindhead Way, Wallington in two locations; at its junction with The Chase; and at and opposite its junction with Gomshall Avenue;
- xiii Kingsmead Avenue, Worcester Park at its junctions with Dalmeny Road;
- xiv Oaklands Way, Wallington at its junction with Sandy Lane South;
- xv Paget Avenue, Sutton in two locations; at its junction with Colburn Way; and on both sides outside No. 2;
- xvi Quarry Park Road, Sutton at the island site at its junction with Carlisle Road;
- xvii Sandy Lane South, Wallington at its junction with Oaklands Way;
- xviii The Chase, Wallington at its junction with Hindhead Way;
- xix The Gallop, Carshalton in two locations; at its junction with The Linkway; and at its junction with Chiltern Road;
- xx The Linkway, Carshalton at its junction with The Gallop;
- xxi Wales Avenue, Carshalton at its junction with Carshalton Park Road;
- xxii Westcroft Road, Carshalton in three locations; outside Nos. 41 to 53 ‘Alcanta’; outside Nos. 36 to 40; and opposite Nos. 48 to 52;
- xxiii Wolseley Road, Mitcham Junction outside No. 64; and
- xxiv Woodbury Drive, Carshalton the eastern arm at its junction with Chiltern Road.
- b extend existing waiting restrictions “no waiting at any time” in the following lengths
of road:—
- i Hall Road, Wallington at its junction with Woodcote Road; and
- ii Northfield Crescent, North Cheam adjacent to No. 99 Abbots Road and opposite Nos. 1 to 4.
- c redefine existing waiting restrictions “no waiting between 8.00 a.m. and 6.30 p.m.
on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive” as “no waiting at any time” in the following lengths
of road:—
- i Bushey Lane, Sutton at its junction with Bushey Road and outside Nos. 1 to 3; and
- ii Bushey Road, Sutton at its junction with Bushey Lane.
- a introduce waiting restrictions “no waiting at any time” in the following lengths of
road:-

- 7 If you wish to object to the proposed Orders you should send a statement in writing, including the grounds for your objection and quoting the Reference WL705 or FR706 to the address in the following paragraph by Wednesday 22 October 2008 .

- 9 Persons objecting to the proposed Orders should be made aware that in view of the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, this Council would be legally obliged to make any comments received in response to this Notice open to public inspection, if requested.

- 4 The general effect of The Sutton (Free Parking Places) (Limited Time) (No. *) (Amendment No. *) Order 200* will be to reduce the length of a free parking place in Banstead Road, Carshalton outside Nos. 67 and 69, where ‘waiting is limited to 30 minutes with no return within 2 hours operating between 8.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive’.
