THE TOWER HAMLETS (PRESCRIBED ROUTE) (NO.1) EXPERIMENTAL TRAFFIC ORDER 2008
- 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets on 11th July 2008 made the above-mentioned Order under section 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by section 8 of, and Part 1 of Schedule 5, of the Local Government Act 1985.
- 2 The general effect of the Order will be to impose one-way working for all vehicles in the length of Brady Street between its junctions with Durward Street and Whitechapel Road, in a southbound direction.
- 3 A copy of the Order which will come into operation on 27th July 2008 can be inspected and obtained during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the expiration of a period of 6 months from that date at Communities, Localities and Culture, Public Realm, Mulberry Place, P.O. Box 55739, 5 Clove Crescent, London E14 1BY.
- 4 If the provisions of the Order continue in operation for a period of not less than 6 months, the Council will consider in due course whether the Order should be reproduced and continued indefinitely by means of an Order under Section 6 of the above Act. Persons desiring to object to the making of the Order under Section 6 may, within the afore-mentioned period of 6 months, send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Service Head, Public Realm at the address in [3] above.
- 5 Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision provided therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act or Local Government Act, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks of the date on which the Order is made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
