THE SECRETARY OF STATE hereby gives notice that she proposes to make an Order under Section 247 of the above Act to authorise the stopping up of a south western part width, with a general width of 3.6 metres from the back edge of the footway, of the cul-de-sac Alexandra Terrace, Guildford, Surrey.
IF THE ORDER IS MADE, the stopping up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permissions granted to Alexandra Road LLP and White Horse (Guildford) Ltd, respectively, by Guildford Borough Council on 16 April 2008 under references 08/P/00064 and 08/P/00066.
COPIES OF THE DRAFT ORDER AND RELEVANT PLAN MAY BE INSPECTED at all reasonable hours during 28 days commencing on 25 June 2008 at Guildford Library, 77 North Street, Guildford, Surrey GU1 4AL and may be obtained free of charge from the Secretary of State at the offices of the Department for Transport (quoting reference NATTRAN/SE/S247/07) at the address stated below.
ANY PERSON MAY OBJECT to the making of the proposed order within the period of 28 days commencing on 25 June 2008 by notice to the Secretary of State, quoting the above reference, addressed to National Transport Casework Team, Government Office for the North East, Citygate, Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4WH.
In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may be imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and that those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it.

The Schedule
Planning permission 08/P/00064 is granted for the erection of mixed use seven storey building with lower ground floor plant room comprising hotel with 31 bedrooms (Use Class C1), restaurant, bar area (Use Class A3 and A4) and 12 apartments following demolition of existing four storey office building (revision to 05/P/02440). As amended by plans received on 14 March 2008 (supporting information received 18/03/2008) at Alexandra House, Alexandra Terrace, Guildford GU1 3DA.
Planning permission 08/P/00066 is granted for the refurbishment and extension to existing hotel (Use Class C1) comprising three storey rising to seven storey floor levels and basement level providing plant at basement level, hotel restaurant and bistro areas (Use Class A3) and associated hotel ancillary accommodation on ground floor and 14 apartments and 10 additional hotel bedrooms (56 in total) over following demolition of existing rear buildings (revision to 05/P/00565 to remove basement parking and reduction of additional hotel bedrooms). As amended by plans received on 14 March 2008 (supporting information received 18/03/2008) at The Guildford Hotel, 253 High Street, Guildford GU1 3JG.
