THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (BUS PRIORITY) (NO. 1, 1999) (AMENDMENT NO. *) TRAFFIC ORDER 200*

1.  NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council proposes to make the above Orders under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985.

2.  To improve the movement and stopping of London Buses along the south-east bound carriageway of the above-mentioned roads (between Marylebone Road and Oxford Street), the general effect of the Orders would be on the north-east side of those roads to:

(a)  amend the waiting restriction hours of operation;

(i)  between Dorset Street and Blandford Street; between George Street and approximately 21 metres north of the junction of Fitzhardinge Street; and between Fitzhardinge Street and Edwards Mews from Mondays to Saturdays 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to include 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays;

(ii)  between Nos. 38 - 44 Baker Street, and between Fitzhardinge Street and a point 21 metres north of that junction from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to “at any time”; and

(b)  amend the loading restriction hours of operation;

(i)  between Nos. 104 and 110 Baker Street from Mondays to Fridays 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and between Nos. 100 to 104 Baker Street from Mondays to Saturdays 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to commence from 8 a.m. instead of 7 a.m. on the days mentioned;

(ii)  between Dorset Street and approximately 23 metres north of the junction of Blandford Street; between George Street and approximately 21 metres north of the junction of Fitzhardinge Street; and between Fitzhardinge Street and approximately 23 metres north of the junction of Wigmore Street and between Wigmore Street and Edwards Mews from Mondays to Saturdays 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. to include 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays;

(iii)  between the junction of Crawford Street and No. 98 Baker Street; between the junction of Blandford Street northward for approximately 23 metres; between the junction of Fitzhardinge Street northward for approximately 21 metres; and between the junction of Wigmore Street, northward for approximately 23 metres from Mondays to Saturdays 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Mondays to Saturdays 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to “at any time”;

(c)  amend all bus lane operational hours from Mondays to Saturdays 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. to include 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.

3.  The proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at West One, 59 Buckingham Gate, London, SW1E 6AJ, until 6 weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Orders are made or the Council decides not to make the Orders. 5.   Any objections or other representations about the proposed Orders should be sent in writing to the Council’s agents, West One, 59 Buckingham Gate, London, SW1E 6AJ, quoting reference 5426/AG, by 9th May 2008. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
