THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (STOPPING UP OF HIGHWAYS) (NO. 1) ORDER 2008
STRATTON STREET
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Westminster on 12th March 2008 made an Order under section 247 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (the “Act”), as amended by the Greater London Authority Act 1999, entitled the City of Westminster (Stopping Up of Highways) (No. 1) Order 2008.
2. The Order authorises the stopping up of a section of highway outside Stratton House, Stratton Street to enable development to be carried out in accordance with planning permission granted by the Council on 7th August 2007 under reference PT/07/05102/FULL under part III of the above Act. The area proposed to be stopped up consists of a rectangular shaped area of highway which lies immediately to the north-east of the north-eastern wall of Stratton House, No.1 Stratton Street, as extends from the north-western flank wall of No.79 Piccadilly north-westwards for a distance of 7.2 metres and which has a width throughout of 0.8 metres. The term “stopping up” means that this area of the above highway would permanently cease to be public highway.
3. The Order, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday to Fridays inclusive at West One, 59 Buckingham Gate, London, SW1E 6AJ, until 23rd April 2008.
4. Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within six weeks of the date of the publication of this notice, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provisions contained therein.
