LOCAL PARKING ISSUES: - INTRODUCTION OF WAITING, LOADING BAY AND ‘SCHOOL KEEP CLEAR’ RESTRICTIONS

The London Borough of Southwark (Waiting and Loading Restrictions) (Amendment No. 14) Order 2007; The London Borough of Southwark (Loading Bay) (Amendment No. 2) Order 2007 and The London Borough of Southwark (Prohibition of Stopping Outside Schools) (Amendment No. 1) Order 2007.

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Southwark (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”) on 8th February 2007 made the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Orders will be:-

(a) in BRAYARDS ROAD, COPLESTON ROAD, GORDON ROAD, HYSON ROAD, OGLANDER ROAD and SHIP AND MERMAID ROW to introduce new lengths of ‘At any time’ waiting restrictions (double-yellow lines);

(b) in GALLEYWALL ROAD, GROVE VALE and WOOD VALE to introduce new lengths of ‘At any time’ waiting restrictions (double-yellow lines) and to rationalise the existing waiting and/or loading restrictions in those streets;

(c) in SOUTHWARK PARK ROAD to provide a loading bay for goods vehicles only, in which goods vehicles may be left for a maximum of 30 minutes provided that continuous loading and/or unloading is taking place, and provided that no vehicle returns to that loading bay within 1 hour; and

(d) in HYSON ROAD, to introduce a length of ‘School Keep Clear’ markings on which vehicles would be prohibited from stopping between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, during school term time.

3. Copies of the proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders can be inspected at the One Stop Shop, Walworth Old Town Hall, 151 Walworth Road, London SE17 1RY during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive.

4. Persons desiring to object to the proposals, or make any other representations in respect of them, should send a statement in writing to that effect, and in the case of an objection, stating the grounds thereof to: the Traffic Orders Officer, Street Scene and Transport Infrastructure Group, Southwark Council, Walworth Old Town Hall, 151 Walworth Road, London SE17 1RY, quoting reference HIG/INS/RDH/TMO2007-011 by 24th May 2007.

5. Under the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, any letter you write in response to this Notice may be made available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they so wished.
