THE WALTHAM FOREST (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO ) ORDER 200

1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Waltham Forest (hereinafter called “the Council”) propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991. 2. The general effect of the Prescribed Routes Order would be to impose one-way working for vehicles in the roads and lengths of roads specified in Schedule 1 to this notice. 3. The general effect of the Waiting and Loading Restriction Amendment Order would be to further amend the Waltham Forest (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1977, so that waiting by vehicles would be prohibited “at any time in the lengths of roads specified in Schedule 2 to the notice. (Note: the existing “at any time” waiting restrictions in the lengths of roads specified in Schedule 3 to this notice would be revoked.) 4. Further notice is hereby given that the Council proposes to construct speed cushions and road humps to control the speed of vehicles at the locations specified in Schedule 4 to this notice under sections 90A to 90F of the Highways Act 1980 and in accordance with the provisions of the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999. The speed cushions would be constructed singly in the centre of the carriageway (except those in Exmouth Road which would be constructed in a line of three across the width of the carriageway), would be of flat top design, 1.6 metres in length, 2 metres in width and not more than 75 millimetres at their highest point. The road humps would be constructed over the full width of the carriageway, would be of flat top design, would be 4.5 metres in length and would be not more than 75 millimetres at their highest point. 5. A copy of each of the proposed Orders, of the above-mentioned Order of 1977 (and of the Orders which have amended that Order, where applicable), of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders and of plans showing the locations and effects of the Orders, speed cushions and road humps can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made, or as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Orders, at: (a) The Information Desk, Town Hall, Forest Road, Walthamstow, London E17; (b) The Reception Desk, Municipal Offices, 16 The Ridgeway, Chingford, London E4; and (c) The Waltham Forest Direct Shop, 772-776 High Road, Leyton, London E10. 6. Any person desiring to object to either of the proposed Orders, speed cushions or road humps or make any other representation, should send a statement in writing of either their objection and the grounds thereof or of their representation to the undersigned at the address given below, quoting Ref ES/TPD/GV/TOM/QR by 14 December 2006.
