Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Bromley proposes to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 47, 49, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985, sections 63 - 87 inclusive and Schedules 6 and 7 of the Road Traffic Act 1991 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the Orders will be to: (a) introduce additional pay and display bays, with option to pay by mobile phone, as specified in the Schedule to this notice; (b) introduce additional on street parking places, with payment only by mobile phone as specified in the Schedule to this notice; (c) amend all existing pay and display bays in the Orpington area to allow payment by mobile phone; (d) allow existing Season Ticket holders of the Station Road car park to park in long stay parking places marked “Zone M” as specified in the Schedule to this notice; (e) introduce Privilege permits for businesses for use in parking places marked “Zone Q” as specified in the Schedule to this notice; (f) amend existing 2 hour maximum stay pay and display bays in Augustus Lane, Berwick Way, High Street, Lych Gate Road and Maltby Close to allow parking by Privilege permit holders “Zone Q” during the permitted hours, Monday to Friday only, 60p per hour up to 2 hours, then £1 for each 15 min period up to 2 hours 30 mins, then £1.50 for each 15 min period up to 3 hours, then £3 for the next 30 mins up to a maximum period of 3 hours 30 mins; (g) introduce a resident parking scheme to allow residents to park in parking places marked “Zone K” as specified in the Schedule to this notice; (h) amend the hours of operation of the existing pay and display bays in Bruce Grove and to allow resident permit parking as specified in the Schedule to this notice; (i) change of use of existing meter parking bays in both High Street and Knoll Rise to Disabled Bays and a motor cycle bay as specified in the Schedule to this notice; (j) introduce new disabled parking bays as specified in the Schedule to this notice; (k) formalise the existing Ambulance bays as specified in the Schedule to this notice; (l) introduce waiting and loading restrictions as specified in the Schedule to this notice; (m) revoke part of the one way system in Augustus Lane so that only the length between its junction with Knoll Rise and the southern rear boundary of No 308 High Street remains one way, in a southerly direction. Details of prohibitions and exemptions for certain vehicles and persons are contained in the original Orders. A copy of the proposed Orders, of the plans of the scheme and of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays at the Bromley Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley, Kent. Any person wishing to object to the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Director of Environment and Leisure Services, Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley BR1 3UH, quoting Ref ADE(TP)/RP/T100/477 not later than 21 September 2006.
