Notice is hereby given that application will be made to the Justices of the Peace sitting at the Magistrates Court, Old Bury Road, Thetford, Norfolk, on 18 September 2006, at 11.45 am, for an Order authorising the stopping-up of areas of highway forming part of the unclassified highway U30601 known as Saint John’s Way and areas of highway forming part of the cycleway known as Canon’s Walk both highways being situated in the town of Thetford as detailed below: Saint John’s Way, U30601: Area 1—that part of Saint John’s Way the U30601 to be stopped up runs from the north-western corner of the northern side of the hammer head junction with the new road from Grid Ref 586245 282945 and then runs in a generally easterly direction for 22 metres to Grid Ref 586264 282947 before running for 6.2 metres in a south-easterly direction to Grid Ref 586270 282944 and measures approximately 38.7 square metres. Area 2—that part of Saint John’s Way the U30601 to be stopped up is a small semi circular area on part of the hammer head measuring approximately 6.9 square metres running from Grid Ref 586260 282925 in a generally north-easterly direction for 10 metres to Grid Ref 586265 282933. Canon’s Walk Cycleway: Area 3—that part of Canon’s Walk to be stopped up is part of the cycleway from its junction with the new road south-westwards from Grid Ref 586305 282947 for approximately 152.5 metres to Grid Ref 586222 282818. It has an area measurement of approximately 501 square metres. Area 4—that part of Canon’s Walk on its western side from Grid Ref 586314 282997 in a northerly direction for approximately 10 metres to Grid Ref 586316 283006 with an area measurement of approximately 10.6 square metres. Area 5—that part of Canon’s Walk at its right angle corner just south of the property 25 Brandon Road, Post Code IP24 3PP. The area is triangular in shape and runs from Grid Ref 586320 283006 in a generally north-westerly direction for approximately 15.5 metres to Grid Ref 586312 283018 and then in an easterly direction for 10.4 metres to Grid Ref 586322 283015. It has an area measurement of 36.9 square metres. A plan showing the land cross hatched in gold which is the subject of this application may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, Norfolk and also at the offices of Breckland District Council, Breckland House, St Nicholas Street, Thetford, Norfolk. Any person using the highway or any person aggrieved by the making of the Order, has a right to be heard before the Justices.
