PLANNING (LISTED BUILDINGS AND CONSERVATION AREAS) ACT 1990, SECTION 69

Notice is given under the provisions of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 that Wychavon District Council has determined on 11 July 2006 that the undermentioned areas of Bredons Norton are areas of special architectural or historic interest, and that it is desirable to preserve their character or appearance. It has accordingly extended the Bredons Norton Conservation Area so as to include these areas: Norton Park and Home Farm; Land at Lower Croft, The Old Forge, Sackridge, Brookfield Farm, The Homeland and The Old Parsonage. The principal effects of these areas being included within a Conservation Area are as follows: 1. The Council has a duty to prepare proposals to ensure the preservation or enhancement of the areas. 2. Consent must be obtained from the Council for the demolition of certain buildings in the areas. 3. Six weeks’ notice must be given to the Council before works are carried out to any tree in the areas. 4. Special publicity must be given to planning applications for development in the areas. 5. In carrying out any functions under the Planning Acts the Council and the Secretary of State are required to take into account the desirability of preserving or enhancing the character or appearance of the areas. The Council on the same date has determined that the undermentioned areas of Bredons Norton Conservation Area are no longer of special architectural or historic interest and reduced the Conservation Area so as to exclude these areas: Field adjacent to The Forge; Land strip on south side of New Road adjacent to Brookfield House. The changes to the Conservation Area boundary may be viewed at The Civic Centre at Pershore, the Droitwich & Evesham Community Contact Centres, Pershore and Evesham public libraries during normal opening hours and on line at www.wychaven.gov.uk Further information regarding the Conservation Area may also be obtained from the Council at The Civic Centre, Queen Elizabeth Drive, Pershore, Worcestershire WR10 1PT, during normal opening hours.
