THE A46 TRUNK ROAD (A46/M40 JUNCTION 15 (LONGBRIDGE) BYPASS SIDE ROADS) ORDER 200
The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that he proposes to make
the following Orders:
1. An Order under sections 10 and 41 of the Highways Act 1980, which will provide
that roads which he proposes to construct along the following routes shall become
trunk roads from the date when the Order comes into force:
(a) a route (“the main route”) about 2.1 kilometres in length from a point on the
A46 Trunk Road approximately 1,005 metres west-south-west of the centre of the M40
Junction 15 (Longbridge) roundabout near Warwick in the county of Warwickshire, to
a point on the A46 Trunk Road approximately 1,289 metres north-north-east of the centre
of the M40 Junction 15 (Longbridge) roundabout; and
(b) four routes to connect the main route with other highways being, a roundabout
on the existing B4463 to connect the new main road with the improved M40 Junction
15 (Longbridge) roundabout via two, two lane link roads; a two lane link road to connect
the improved M40 Junction 15 (Longbridge) to the new main road which the Secretary
of State for Transport proposes to construct near the Hampton Road Overbridge and
a two lane link road to connect the existing A46 near Hampton Road Overbridge to the
new main road.
2. An Order under section 10 of the Highways Act 1980, which will provide that a
length of the A46 Trunk Road to be superseded by the new trunk road on the main route
shall cease to be a trunk road as from the date on which the Secretary of State for
Transport notifies the Warwickshire County Council (who will become the highway authority
responsible for that length) that the new trunk road on the main route is open for
traffic.
3. An Order under sections 14 and 125 of the Highways Act 1980, in relation to the
A46 Trunk Road and the new Trunk Road to be constructed by him at Sherbourne and at
Longbridge in the county of Warwick, which will:
(1) authorise him to:
(a) improve highways,
(b) stop-up highways,
(c) construct new highways,
(d) stop-up private means of access to premises,
(e) provide new means of access to premises,
[all in the vicinity of the new road on the main route], and
(1) provide for the transfer of each new highway to Warwickshire County Council as
from the date on which he notifies them that it has been completed and is open for
traffic.
Copies of each draft Order and the plans referred to in it, and of the environmental
statement which the Secretary of State for Transport has published in relation to
the construction of the new highways and the improvement of existing highways referred
to in the draft Orders numbered 1 and 3 above, may be inspected, free of charge, at
all reasonable hours from 6 July 2006 until 15 September 2006, or within 10 weeks
from the date of first publication of this notice if that period expires later, at
the Highways Agency, Reception Area, 5 Broadway, Broad Street, Birmingham B15 1BL;
at the offices of Warwickshire County Council, Shire Hall, Warwick, Warwickshire CV34
4RA; at Leamington Spa Library, Royal Pump Rooms, The Parade, Royal Leamington Spa
CV32 4AA; at Warwick Library and Information Centre, Barrack Street, Warwick CV34
4TH; and at Birmingham Central Library, Local Studies and History, 6th Floor, Chamberlain
Square, Birmingham B3 3HQ.
Any person may object to the making of any of these Orders not later than 15 September
2006, or within 10 weeks from the date of first publication of this notice if that
period expires later, by notice to the Secretary of State for Transport at M40 Junction
15 (Longbridge) Bypass Team, Highways Agency, D4, 5 Broadway, Broad Street, Birmingham
B15 1BL, stating the grounds of objection. In the preparation of an objection and
the statement of grounds of objection, it should be borne in mind that the substance
of any objection or representation may be communicated to other people who may be
affected by it.
