WEIGHT RESTRICTION—GOAT HOUSE BRIDGE, SOUTH NORWOOD

1. Notice is hereby given that Croydon Council propose to make the Croydon (Weight Restriction) (No D.8) Traffic Order 2006 under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended by the Local Government Act, 1985. 2. The general effect of the Order will be to prohibit vehicles exceeding 26 tonnes maximum gross weight in that length of Goat House Bridge, which lies between its junctions with High Street, South Norwood and Penge Road. 3. A copy of the proposed Order, of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order and of a map indicating the length of road to which the proposed Order relates can be inspected until the last day of a period of 6 weeks beginning with the date on which the Order is made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Order, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, at the Enquiry Counter, “One Stop” facility, Taberner House, Park Lane, Surrey. 4. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Order Making Section, Parking Services, Croydon Council, 1st Floor Davis House, Robert Street, Croydon, CR0 1QQ quoting Ref ECSS/PS/DS/8/D8 by 24 May 2006. 7. The proposed Order is intended to introduce a ban on vehicles exceeding 26 tonnes maximum gross weight from using the Goat House Bridge, South Norwood following bridge inspection and structural assessments.
