WATER RESOURCES ACT 1991 AS AMENDED BY THE ENVIRONMENT ACT 1995 SCHEDULE 10
NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECTION 88
Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Schedule 10 section 4 of the Water Resources
Act 1991, that an application has been made to the Environment Agency by Vale Royal
Borough Council, Wyvern House, The Drumber, Winsford, Cheshire CW7 1AH, for consent
to discharge brine, at the rate of 1000 cubic metres per day, into the River Weaver
at National Grid Ref SJ 6445 7487. The brine is to be extracted from the Northwich
Salt Mines, as part of the stabilisation scheme.
Any person wishing to make representations about the application should do so in
writing to:
Environment Agency, Planning and Customer, Services, Appleton House, 430 Birchwood
Boulevard, Warrington WA3 7WD, not later than 24 May 2006 quoting Ref s/089/p/2006.
A copy of the application may be inspected, free of charge, at the above address
during office hours, Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
Details of this application for consent are placed on a public register, kept by
the Agency and open for inspection by the public.
