THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (STOPPING-UP OF HIGHWAYS) (NO 2) ORDER 2006
GOLDEN SQUARE, LONDON W1

1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Westminster, on 5 April 2006, made an Order under section 247 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, as amended by the Greater London Authority Act 1999, entitled the City of Westminster (Stopping-Up of Highways) (No 2) Order 2006. 2. The Order authorises the stopping-up of part of the highway of Golden Square (an area of footway extending approximately 2.4 metres from the south eastern facing flank wall of No 1 Golden Square south eastwards and in front of the front wall of Nos 2 and 3 Golden Square for a distance of approximately 10 metres and with a width of approximately 1.3 metres) to enable development to be carried out in accordance with planning permission granted by the Council on 11 May 2005, under Ref PT/04/08857/FULL, under part III of the above Act. The term “stopping-up” means that this area of Golden Square would cease to be public highway. 3. The Order, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order, are available for inspection between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm on Monday to Fridays inclusive at West One, 59 Buckingham Gate, London SW1E 6AJ, until 19 May 2006. 4. Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of the date of the publication of this notice, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provisions contained therein.
