NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO DIVERT SHILLINGSTONE COTTAGE LANE, SHILLINGSTONE AND TO STOP UP HIGHWAY BEING THE PRESENT ROUTE OF SHILLINGSTONE COTTAGE LANE, SHILLINGSTONE, DORSET
At 3.00 pm on 4 May 2006, the County Council as Highway Authority for the County of Dorset intends to apply to the Dorset Magistrates’ Court sitting at Weymouth Magistrates Court, The Law Courts, Westwey Road, Weymouth, Dorset for an application under section 116 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of this Order, if made, will be to divert Shillingstone Cottage Lane to approximate Grid Ref ST 8250 1111, in a north-westerly direction for approximately 9.5 metres and then in a generally south-westerly direction to its junction with public footpath No 35 at approximate Grid Ref ST 8244 1101, for a distance of approximately 115 metres. The path is grass-surfaced and has a minimum width of 1.5 metres throughout. Also to stop up highway rights over the former route of Shillingstone Cottage Lane leading to The Manor House. A plan illustrating the extent of the Order applied for may be inspected, free of charge, at Blandford Library during its normal opening hours. Anyone aggrieved by this application may oppose it by attending in person at the Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on 4 May 2006, at 3.00 pm and they will have the right to be heard.
