NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Take notice that Heygate Farms Swaffham Ltd, of Snails Pit Farm, Cley Road, Swaffham,
Norfolk, are applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from
a borehole into the chalk strata, at National Grid Ref TF 7765 0395 near “Cleywood”
at Langwade Green Farm in the parish of Cockley Cley in the district of Breckland
in the county of Norfolk.
The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 45.4 cubic metres per hour,
1,000 cubic metres per day and 50,000 cubic metres per year, between 1 April and 31
October each year. The water will be used for spray irrigation of agricultural crops,
this being an application to replace, without any change, the existing licence serial
No 6/33/48/G/270 which expires on 31 March 2006.
A copy of the application and any maps, plans and other documents submitted with
it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at The Farm Office, Snails
Pit Farm, Cley Road, Swaffham, Norfolk, between 3 February 2006 and 6 March 2006.
Any person who wishes to make representation about the application should do so in
writing to the Environment Agency, Bromholme Lane, Brampton, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire
PE28 4NE, before the end of the said period.
