THE HARROW (FREE PARKING PLACES) (DISABLED PERSONS) (AMENDMENT NO 17) TRAFFIC ORDER 2005

1. Notice is hereby given that on 2 September 2005, the London Borough of Harrow made the above-mentioned Order under sections 6, 7, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985, and all other enabling powers. 2. The general effect of the Order is to amend the Harrow (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) Traffic Order 1998 so as to introduce Free Parking Places for Disabled Persons lawfully displaying Disabled Persons’ Badges, so that: (a) in the spaces listed in the streets specified in Schedule 1 to this notice only motor vehicles displaying a disabled persons badge may wait; (b) the disabled spaces listed in Schedule 2 were deleted; and (c) the disabled space listed in Schedule 3 was altered in size. 3. The prohibitions referred to in paragraph 2 above will not apply in respect of anything done at the direction of a police constable in uniform, a traffic warden or with the permission of a parking attendant or in certain circumstances which can be provided on request. 4. The Order, which will come into operation on 12 September 2005, and other documents giving more detailed particulars are available for inspection between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm, Mondays to Fridays, at the Urban Living Reception at the address below, until 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made. 5. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order, or of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of the Act or of any Instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court. Schedule 2 Removals Athelstone Road, the north side, outside No 86 Athelstone Road, with a length of 5.5 metres. Scott Crescent, the south side, outside No 8 Scott Crescent, with a length of 5.5 metres.
