ENFIELD TOWN CENTRE—NEW TRAFFIC AND WAITING AND LOADING ARRANGEMENTS

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Enfield on 5 September 2005 made: (a) the Enfield (Prescribed Routes) (No 1) Traffic Order 2005; (b) the Enfield (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Special Parking Area) (Amendment No 244) Order 2005; under sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991. 2. The general effect of the Orders will be, in conjunction with the introduction of the new Enfield Town traffic and waiting and loading arrangements, including the provision of advisory cycle measures in Cecil Road, Genotin Road, London Road, Silver Street, Enfield, Southbury Road and The Town and the introduction of new traffic signal arrangements at certain junctions (with pedestrian crossing facilities). 3. The general effect of the prescribed routes Order will be to: (a) compel the left turn by westbound vehicular traffic in Southbury Road on reaching the junction with Genotin Road to turn left into that road; (b) compel the right turn by westbound vehicular traffic in the carriageway on the south-west side of the island site situated at the junction of Southbury Road and Genotin Road to turn right into Genotin Road; (c) compel vehicular traffic proceeding in the carriageway on the south-east side of the island site situated at the junction of the Town and Silver Street, Enfield to proceed ahead into Southbury Road; (d) compel vehicular traffic proceeding in the carriageway on the south-east side of the island site situated at the junction of London Road and Genotin Road to turn left into London Road; (e) compel vehicular traffic proceeding in the carriageway on the south-west side of the island site situated at the junction of London Road and Cecil Road to turn left into Cecil Road; (f) compel the left turn by southbound vehicular traffic in Silver Street, Enfield on reaching the junction with Southbury Road to turn left into that road; (g) impose one-way traffic working in a general southerly and westerly direction in Genotin Road (towards its junction with London Road and Cecil Road); (h) impose one-way traffic working eastbound in that part of Southbury Road between London Road/Silver Street, Enfield and the western kerbline of Genotin Road; (i) reverse the existing one-way traffic working in that part of London Road between Cecil Road/Genotin Road and The Town/Silver Street, Enfield so as to operate in a northerly direction. Note: All redundant prescribed vehicle movements which would be superseded by the above-mentioned new traffic arrangements would be revoked. 5. The general effect of the waiting and loading restriction Order will be to: (a) change the existing waiting restrictions to (or in the case of the new section of Genotin Road introduce new) “at any time” waiting restrictions in certain lengths of Genotin Road; (b) change the existing loading restrictions to (or in the case of the new section of Genotin Road introduce new) “at any time” loading restrictions in certain lengths of Genotin Road, and “Mondays to Saturdays 8.00 am to 6.30 pm” loading restrictions in certain lengths of Genotin Road. Note: All other existing loading restrictions in those streets to remain. Note: These restrictions were original1y proposed along with similar waiting and loading restrictions for London Road, St. Andrews Road, Silver Street, Enfield, Southbury Road and The Town pending construction work, will not be introduced at this time. 8. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 12 September 2005, and of other relevant documents, can be inspected at the Reception Desk “B” Block, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex EN1 3XD during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders were made. 9. Copies of the Orders may be obtained from Traffic and Transportation Services, The Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex EN1 3XD. 10. Any person desiring to question the validity of any of the Orders, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
