NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that Joseph Rochford Gardens Ltd of Pipers End, Letty Green, Hertfordshire SG14 2PB, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from chalk at NGR TL 2943 1153, Birch Green, Hertfordshire. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 12 cubic metres per hour, 45 cubic metres per day, 7,000 cubic metres per year, all year round. The water will be used for plant irrigation. The existing licence expires 31 December 2005, this application seeks permission to continue to abstract from this source at the same rate. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Pipers End, Letty Green, Hertfordshire SG14 2PB between 14 September 2005 and 14 October 2005. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Team Leader Water Resources, East Area Thames Region, North East Area, Apollo Court, 2 Bishop Square, St Albans Road West, Hatfield, Hertfordshire AL10 9EX, before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
