BOUNCES ROAD, EDMONTON AND BINCOTE ROAD, WORLDS END—AMENDMENT OF 20 MPH ZONES

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Enfield (The Council), on 22 August 2005, made the Enfield (20 mph Speed Limit) (No 2) Traffic Order 2005, and the Enfield (20 mph Speed Limit) (No 3) Traffic Order 2005, under sections 84(1) and (2) and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991. 2. The general effect of the Orders will be to amend the areas of existing 20 miles per hour zones designated by the Enfield (20 mph Speed Limit) (No 1) Traffic Order 2000 and the Enfield (20 mph Speed Limit) (No 1) Traffic Order 2002 so as to omit from their respective zones— (a) that part of Bincote Road between its junction with Enfield Road/Slades Hill and a point 4.2 metres south of the southern kerbline of Links Side; and (b) that part of Bounces Road, Edmonton between its junction with Montagu Road and the common boundary of Nos 168 and 170 Bounces Road (just west of Exeter Road). (Note: this will have the effect of re-introducing 30 mph speed limits into the above-mentioned sections of roads). 3. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 5 September 2005, and other relevant documents can be inspected at the Reception Desk, “B” Block, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex, EN1 3XD during normal office hours, on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until the end of 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders were made. 4. Copies of the Orders may be obtained from Traffic Transportation, The Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex EN1 3XD. 5. Any person desiring to question the validity of either of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
