The Secretary of State hereby gives notice that he has made an Order under Section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-up of Highways (County of Tyne and Wear) (No 07) Order 2005” authorising the stopping-up of areas of Old Eldon Square on the north side of Blackett Street, Newcastle upon Tyne to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with planning permissions granted to CSC Properties Ltd by Newcastle City Council on 20 April 2004 under Ref 2003/2002/01/DET and 29 November 2004 under Ref 2003/2002/03/MAM. Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Secretary of State at the offices of the Director, Environment Group, Government Office for the North East, Citygate, Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4WH (quoting Ref GO-NE/04/5038/35/25) and may be inspected at all reasonable hours at the offices of the Newcastle City Council, c/o Gail Wrightson, Customer Service Centre, Ground Floor, Civic Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 8PD. Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 9 June 2005, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein. M Grieveson, Higher Executive Officer Schedule The planning permission 2003/2002/01/DET is granted for the extension and alterations to Eldon Square Shopping Centre and the western facade of Eldon Square including the provision of new retail floor space at ground and first floor levels; provision of new terrace; incorporating new pedestrian access arrangements (Scheme 2) as amended by letter and plans dated 21 November 2003. The planning permission 2003/2002/03/MAM is for Minor Amendment (alterations to the elevations to permission 2003/2002/02/DET dated 5 December 2003). Both permissions relating to Eldon Square Shopping Centre, Blackett Street, Newcastle upon Tyne.
