THE NEWHAM (CANNING TOWN) (PARKING PLACES) (SPECIAL PARKING AREA) (NO 1, 2001) (AMENDMENT NO ) ORDER 200
1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Newham propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49, 51 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991. 2. The general effect of the Newham (Canning Town) (Disabled Resident Parking Places) (Special Parking Area) (No ) Order 200 would be to designate parking places for use only by persons who are resident within the Canning Town Controlled Parking Zone, who meet the current criteria for provision of parking places for disabled persons and who display Disabled Resident Parking Permits on their vehicles. Certain other vehicles may wait in the parking places in certain circumstances, eg to load or unload goods or pick up or set down passengers. Parking places would be designated outside each of the following locations: No 6 Clarkson Road, London E16; Clarkson Road, London E16, the westernmost north-west to south-east arm, the south-west side (to the rear of Nos 10-42 and 12-44 Silvertown Way); Clarkson Road, London E16, the northernmost north-west to south-east arm, the north-east side, from a point 11 metres north-west of the north-western wall of Nos 1-17 Hughes Terrace, Clarkson Road, north-westward for a distance of 3.9 metres and with a width throughout of 4.9 metres; Clarkson Road, London E16, the easternmost north-east to south-west arm, the south-east side, from a point 6 metres north-east of the north-eastern wall of Nos 1 to 44 Swanscombe Point, Clarkson Road north-eastward for a distance of 5.5 metres. 3. The general effect of the Newham (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (No 1, 1989) (Amendment No ) Order 200 would be to further amend the provisions of the Newham (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (No 1) Order 1989 so as to omit redundant disabled persons’ parking places and those parking places which are proposed to be designated as Disabled Resident Permit Holder parking places, as set out in paragraph 2 above. 4. The general effect of the Newham (Canning Town) (Parking Places) (Special Parking Area) (No 1, 2001) (Amendment No ) Order 200 would be to amend the provisions of the Newham (Canning Town) (Parking Places) (Special Parking Area) (No 1) Order 2001 so as to take account of the designation of Disabled Resident Permit Holder parking places as set out in paragraph 2 above. 5. Copies of documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, can be inspected until 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made (or until the proposals are withdrawn, as appropriate) during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at the offices of the Head of Public Realm, 25 Nelson Street, East Ham, London E6 6EH. 6.
