NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that Silkstone Golf Club, of Field, Head, Elmhirst Lane, Silkstone, Barnsley S75 4LD, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from a borehole 1 the Coal Measures at National Grid Ref SE 3043 0599, at Silkstone Golf Club, of Field, Head, Elmhirst Lane, Silkstone, Barnsley. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rate: 4.4 cubic metres per hour, 60 cubic metres per day and 6,000 cubic metres between April and November each year. The water will be used for spray irrigation of the golf course. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Silkstone Golf Club, Field Head, Elmhirst Lane, Silkstone, Barnsley S75 4LD, between 20 May 2005 and 20 June 2005. Any person who wishes to make representations about this application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, North East Region, Phoenix House, Global Avenue, Leeds LS11 8PG, before the said period.
