PROPOSED BUS PARKING/WAITING FACILITIES
HORSEFERRY ROAD, RUSSELL STREET, STRAND, TEMPLE PLACE AND WARWICK ROW

1.;Notice is hereby given that Westminster City Council propose to make the following Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985: The City of Westminster (Bus Parking Places) (No ;) Order 200; The City of Westminster (Prohibition of Stopping) (No ;) Order 200; The City of Westminster (Parking Places) (No ;) Order 200; The City of Westminster (Parking Places) (No ;) Order 200; and The City of Westminster (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No ;) Order 200;. 2.;The general effect of the Orders would be to introduce bus parking and waiting facilities in Horseferry Road, Russell Street, Strand, Temple Place and Warwick Row, and to make various revisions to existing parking provision. A brief description of the proposals is outlined in the Schedule to this notice. 3.;The proposed Orders, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, including plans showing the location and effect, are available for inspection between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, at West One, 59 Buckingham Gate, London, SW1E 6AJ, until 6 weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Orders are made or the Council decides not to make the Orders. 4.;Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Council’s agents, West One, on (020) 7798 1983. 5.;Any objections or other representations about the proposed Orders should be sent in writing to the Council’s agents, West One, 59;Buckingham Gate, London, SW1E 6AJ, quoting Ref 10568503/5113/ORD/RJJ, until the expiration of a period of 28 days from the date on which this notice is published. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made. M Low, Director of Transportation (the Officer appointed for this purpose) Schedule Horseferry Road : to convert three 4-hour pay and display bays on the south side (east of Marsham Street) to a bus parking place (16.5 metres in length); to provide that the bus parking place would operate between 8.30 am and 12.00 midnight throughout the week; to provide that the parking charge at the bus parking place would be £4;an hour (between 8.30 am and 6.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays) for a maximum parking period of 2 hours. Russell Street: to introduce a “no stopping at any time” restriction on the south-east side (north-east of Catherine Street for a length of 60 metres), for all vehicles except buses between 8.30 am and 12.00 midnight for a maximum period of 20 minutes. Strand: to introduce a “no stopping at any time” restriction on the north-west side (outside Nos 430 to 437 for a length of 28 metres), for all vehicles except buses and goods vehicles (for loading and unloading purposes only) between 8.30 am and 12.00 midnight for a maximum period of 20 minutes. Temple Place: to convert three 2-hour pay and display bays on the north side (outside Globe House) to bus parking places (31 metres in length); to provide that the bus parking places would operate between 8.30 am and 12.00 midnight throughout the week; to provide that the parking charge at the bus parking places would be £4 an hour (between 8.30 am and 6.30 pm on Mondays to Saturdays) for a maximum parking period of 2 hours; to convert the seven remaining 2-hour pay and display bays on the north side (outside and adjacent to Globe House) to metered operation. Warwick Row: to introduce a “no stopping at any time” restriction on the west side (south of Bressenden Place for a length of 14 metres), for all vehicles except buses between 8.30 am and 12.00 midnight for a maximum period of 20 minutes (this measure will replace the existing taxi rank at this location); to convert two 2-hour metered parking bays on the west side (north of Bressenden Place) to taxi metered parking places, at which hackney carriages may wait for a maximum parking period of two hours for a parking charge of £1 an hour between 8.30 am and 6.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays; to introduce “at any time” waiting and loading restrictions at the junction of Allington Street (on the west side) and between Bressenden Place and Allington Street (on the east side). 18 May 2005.
